Frequently Asked Questions about D2L

1. How do I set up my La Sierra University email account so I can use D2L?

You must set up your LSU email password.

2. Where can I get face-to-face help, if I have problems?

All MICOL Lab staff members are trained to help students get set up in D2L. The set-up process does not take long when a someone walks you through it. In addition, you may also come to Dave Bradley's office (School of Education, suite 134).

3. Who can I call or email for help?

The D2L Helpdesk email goes to Dave Bradley in Distance Learning. If you click on the link, it will open up your email program so you can email him directly. The Digital Learning phone number is: 951-785-2400.

4. Why don't I get the emails that my instructor sends to the class even though I can login to D2L?

a. You must either check your LSU Webmail regularly or set up mail forwarding to your regular email address.

b. If you have already set up mail forwarding and still do not receive class email, go back into your LSU Webmail to make sure you typed in your regular email address correctly. It must be the full address (johndoe@hotmail.com) with no mistakes. If you make a mistake in typing your regular email address, your LSU email cannot be forwarded to you.

5. How do I access D2L?

Click on the eLearning link at the LSU web site (just below Quick Links) or follow these directions.

Be sure to check out the full set-up directions for D2L at LSU. Once you have activated your LSU email account and have set up mail forwarding, using D2L will be a breeze!

6. I can't see my courses in D2L. What do I do now?

The courses are organized by year and quarter under each school and/or college in LSU. Each organizing division section has a plus sign next to it. Click on each of the plus signs (expand) under My La Sierra University Courses, and you will see your courses for the current quarter.

Alternately, if the quarter is over you won't be able to your course. If you have a valid reason to access the course beyond the end date, please email your instructor and they will contact Digital Learning for an extension.
